Overview

In this guide, we will show you how to create bundles/kits within Expandly. If you sell items in a bundle or kit, by creating the bundles within Expandly, this will up the bundle, and individual item stock levels, ensuring you never over sell.

Before you start

Before creating your bundles/kits in Expandly, you will need to ensure that you've added the individual products. You can create these manually, via CSV/TXT, or via a sales channel(s) listing import. 

 

Adding bundles/kits manually

1. Click Products & Listings (left menu) and then click Manage Products:

2. On the Manage Products page, click Add Product (top right)> Add Manually:

3. On the Add Product page, complete all required information on each of the tabs, to create your product & bundle:

Product Details tab - add the information you want including in your listing, including any compulsory fields marked with a red asterisk. This includes title, selling price, SKU, description and images. 

Variations tab - if your product has variations, tick the 'Has Variations' box and complete the variation information. 

Sales Channels tab - on this tab, you can provide different information, at sales channel level, that you want to be associated to the product & listing - different Titles, Selling Prices, Descriptions or Sales Channel Stock Levels for example. It will also be on this tab that you will need to add any required channel required, that need to be met to list. 

4. To create a bundle/kit, for a single product, you will see a Bundle Items tab when creating your product. Click mceclip2.png to create the bundle. Once this has been done, you will then be able to:

  • select whether you want to track inventory - This will means that stock levels are updated across the bundle and individual components as sales import or stock levels are updated:

  •  add the bundle items by typing the product name in the Item field,  and selecting to auto-filled suggestions:

  •  determine the component quantity to be included within the Bundle/Kit:

  •  add additional component items by clicking mceclip6.png
  • once this has been done, and all component items have been added, Expandly will automatically calculate the total bundle quantity that is available:

5. To create a bundle/kit for a variation product, this will need to be done via the Variations tab - for variation products, the Bundle Items tab will not be available. On the Variations tab, click the mceclip8.png icon, within the Bundle column, and on the Bundle Variation pop up, click mceclip2.png to create the bundle. Once this has been done, you will then be able to:

  • select whether you want to track inventory - This will means that stock levels are updated across the bundle and individual components as sales import or stock levels are updated.
  •  add the bundle items by typing the product name in the Item field,  and selecting to auto-filled suggestions.
  •  determine the component quantity to be included within the Bundle/Kit.
  •  add additional component items by clicking mceclip6.png
  • click mceclip10.png to save the bundle on Expandly 
  • once this has been done, and all component items have been added, Expandly will automatically calculate the total bundle quantity that is available.

6. Once complete, click mceclip12.png (top right) and the either Save (this will save the product on Expandly only) or Save & List Now (this will initiate the listing process to get the product on your sales channels).

Adding bundles/kits to existing products

1. Click Products & Listings (left menu) and then click Manage Products

2. On your Manage Products page, find the product you wish to update using the search bar or filters:

4. For single products, go the the Bundle Items tab. Click mceclip2.png and once this has been done, you will then be able to:

  •  add the bundle items by typing the product name in the Item field,  and selecting to auto-filled suggestions.
  •  determine the component quantity to be included within the Bundle/Kit.

  • click mceclip10.png to save the bundle on Expandly 
  • once this has been done, and all component items have been added, Expandly will automatically calculate the total bundle quantity that is available.

5. For variation products, go to the Variations tab. Click the mceclip8.png icon, within the Bundle column, and on the Bundle Variation pop up, click mceclip2.png to create the bundle. Once this has been done, you will then be able to:

  • select whether you want to track inventory - This will means that stock levels are updated across the bundle and individual components as sales import or stock levels are updated.
  •  add the bundle items by typing the product name in the Item field,  and selecting to auto-filled suggestions.
  •  determine the component quantity to be included within the Bundle/Kit.

  • click mceclip10.png to save the bundle on Expandly 
  • once this has been done, and all component items have been added, Expandly will automatically calculate the total bundle quantity that is available.

6. Once complete, click mceclip12.png (top right) and the either Save (this will save the product on Expandly only) or Save & List Now (this will initiate the listing process to get the product on your sales channels).

Adding bundles/kits via CSV

1. Click Products & Listings (left menu) and then click Manage Products

2. Click Add Product (top right) and then select Upload via CSV or TXT:

3. On your Upload Products via CSV or TXT page, if you have already created the file you wish to upload (using either the sample file, or a template you have created on Expandly), you can upload it to the Expandly using the drag and drop Drop Zone, or manually via Choose File mceclip17.png

4.  Once the file has been selected, click mceclip19.png . The file will then be in a queue to be uploaded into Expandly, which can take 15-30 minutes, depending on the file size:

5. On your Upload Products via CSV or TXT page, if you have not already created the file, download a sample CSV file by clicking the mceclip21.png button (top right). Open the downloaded file in Excel (or any other spreadsheet software) and enter the required bundle information:

When complete, you can upload it to the Expandly using the drag and drop Drop Zone, or manually via Choose File - Once the file has been selected, click mceclip19.png . The file will then be in a queue to be uploaded into Expandly, which can take 15-30 minutes, depending on the file size.

Viewing Bundles:/Kits

1. Click Products & Listings (left menu) and then click Manage Products

2. On your Manage Products page, you will be able to view any Bundle/Kits that have been created. These are easily identifiable and within the Total Quantity column,  you will see the following:

  • The Bundle mceclip23.pngicon will be displayed for any products that are a bundle product
  • The Component mceclip25.png icon will be displayed for any products that are a component item of a bundle product 

3. To find a bundle/component product, you can use the search bar or Bundles filter, which will allow you to bring back products that exist within Expandly as either a bundle or component product:

Editing Bundles/Kits

1. Click Products & Listings (left menu) and then click Manage Products

2. On your Manage Products page, find the bundle you wish to update using the search bar or filters.

3. Click edit mceclip14.pngto open the Edit Product page. 

4. For single products go to the Bundle Items tab, and for variation products go to the Variations Tab. From here you will be able to make the required changes and:

  • select whether you want to track inventory - This will means that stock levels are updated across the bundle and individual components as sales import or stock levels are updated.
  •  add the bundle items by typing the product name in the Item field,  and selecting to auto-filled suggestions.
  •  determine the component quantity to be included within the Bundle/Kit.
  •  add additional component items by clicking mceclip6.png

5. Click mceclip10.png to save the bundle changes on Expandly 

Updating bundle/kit quantities

1. Click Products & Listings (left menu) and then click Manage Products

2. On your Manage Products page, find the component item(s) you wish to update using the search bar or filters.

3. For single products, within the Total Quantity column, update the quantity via the Quick Edit:

mceclip29.png  For variation products, click the variations, within the Total Quantity column and then on the Product Variation pop-up, update the quantities via the Quick Edit

4. Once the quantity change have been made to the component item(s), the bundle will be dynamically updated and Expandly will automatically re-calculate the total bundle quantity that is available based on the component(s) quantities, and the quantities available in a bundle/kit.
