Linking Products & Quantities on Expandly

Overview

In this guide, we will show you how to manually link your products & quantities on Expandly, to ensure accurate stock levels when sales orders import, or quantities are updated. 

What is linking quantities? 

You will be required to link quantities if your products appear differently across your sales channel accounts. There are a number of scenarios where you may be required to manually link your products & quantities together in Expandly. These include:

• Selling a different number of variations across different products & listings on your sales channels.

For example: I sell Pink Socks in Sizes '11-3', '4.-6' and '7-9' on Shopify, and Sizes '11-3', '4.-6', '7-9' and '10-12' on eBay.

• Selling different variation attributes across different products & listings on your sales channels.

For example: I sell Pink Socks in Option: 'Size' on Shopify, and Options: Choose Size' and 'Colour' on eBay.

• Selling products individually (no variations) on some channels but as part of a variation on others.

For example: I only sell Children's Pink Socks (SKU 13K) on Shopify but sell the same Pink Socks on eBay as a variation which includes Children's sizes (SKU 13K) and Adult's sizes (SKU 13L).

1. Main SKUs are not associated or differ between the products
   

Things to note when Linking Quantities:

• You are unable to add additional products/SKUs to an existing link in Expandly. In this scenario, if you need to add more products to the link, you will be required to unlink the quantities and re-link together, including all SKUs you wish to control stock levels across.
• If you delete products from Expandly, this will remove any manual linking that had previously been carried out. Please make sure that your product structure is set up correctly prior to creating any manual links in Expandly to avoid having to recreate any links on your account. 

Linking quantities on Expandly

1. Click Products & Listings (left menu) and then Manage Products:

2. On the Manage Products page, find and select the products that you wish to link together using the search bar or filters:

3. Click Product Sync and then select Link Quantities from the drop-down:

4. On the Link Quantities pop up, select the product and variations you wish to link together (variations can be viewed by clicking the   icon)

6. Once you have saved the manual link, you will be able to view linked products on your Manage Products page - These are identifiable by the linked icon , or alternatively you can apply a filter to show any 'Linked Quantity' that exist on your account:

Updating Linked Quantities

1. Click Products & Listings (left menu) and then Manage Products

2. On the Manage Products page, find and select the products that you wish to unlink using the search bar or filters.

3. Click on the linked icon  

4. On the Update or Unlink Quantities pop up, make the required changes and click to save.

Unlinking Quantities

1. Click Products & Listings (left menu) and then Manage Products

2. On the Manage Products page, find and select the products that you wish to unlink using the search bar or filters.
