The following questions and
answers address the most common queries we're receiving from clients regarding
the current PPWR EPR registration delays across Europe.
1. Will I be considered non-compliant after 12 August 2026?
Not necessarily. If your application has already been submitted, delays caused by authorities or PROs are outside your control. The most important step is to submit your application as early as possible.
Where appropriate, Expandly can provide evidence of your ongoing registration to support your compliance position.
2. Will online marketplaces remove my listings?
This depends on the enforcement policy of each marketplace. Several major platforms have acknowledged the current delays and may assess ongoing registrations on a case-by-case basis.
While Expandly cannot guarantee individual decisions, evidence of an active registration may help support your compliance position.
3. Will I receive penalties?
This depends on the enforcement approach of the relevant authority or marketplace. Submitting your application as early as possible demonstrates your commitment to compliance.
Where delays are outside your control, Expandly will provide reasonable support as appropriate.
4. How long will delays continue?
Based on the latest information, we expect increased processing times to continue until at least mid-September 2026, although timelines may vary by country.
5. I've only just instructed Expandly. Is there anything else I need to do?
Once we have received all the information required to submit your registration, Expandly will manage the application process on your behalf. If we require any additional information or documentation, we will contact you promptly.
Otherwise, there is no further action required from you at this stage.
6. Will Expandly keep me updated on the progress of my registration?
Yes. We will continue to monitor your registration and keep you informed of any significant updates, requests from the relevant authorities, or important developments that may affect your application.
7. What evidence should I keep while my registration is being processed?
We recommend keeping copies of any registration confirmations, and correspondence relating to your application. Where required, Expandly can also provide evidence that your registration is in progress to support your compliance position.
8. What happens once my registration has been approved?
Once your registration has been successfully completed, we will provide you with your registration details and any relevant next steps, including any ongoing reporting or compliance obligations that may apply.
9. Do I need to contact the authorities or PROs directly?
No. As Expandly is managing your registration, we will liaise with the relevant Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs) and authorities on your behalf where appropriate. If any action is required from you, we will let you know.
10. How will Expandly support me?
Expandly will support you by closely monitoring the progress of your registration, liaising with Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs) and relevant authorities on your behalf where appropriate, and providing evidence of your ongoing registration application if needed.
We will also keep you informed of any significant regulatory developments that may affect your compliance.
