What's needed?
In order to progress with ES EPR Packaging, you will require a digital certificate - for more information on what this is, please click

The quickest way to register the digital certificate, is if you have an active ES VAT number however, it is possible to still obtain the digital certificate, without this.
What does the process look like?
With an active ES VAT Number:
POA set up and apostilled for the company
Application submitted for the digital certificate
ES EPR can then be requested
Without an active ES VAT Number:
POA set up and apostilled for the company
A NIF must be registered first for the company (just an ID number - not the same as standard VAT which requires quarterly VAT filing)
Once received the digital certificate can be applied for
ES EPR can then be requested
What are the timeframes?
With existing ES VAT number : 1 month
Without ES VAT : 3-4 months
What are the costs for this?
With existing ES VAT number: £450
Without ES VAT: £800
